As ArmyWifeToddlerMom has said, she did not sleep well, neither did I.
When I went to bed I was mostly ignoring the election game but I couldn't help noticing it looked like my team was in trouble**
The Virginia race was tight but at least Allen was on top when I shut everything down. Now Webb is claiming victory? And we have to wait until Thanksgiving for the official word?
And this Pelosi nonsense? I must be in a dream ... please let me be in a terribly, horrible nightmare ...
But Andi has things right with the silver lining ... we have a mission to make sure each and every mistake these fools inflict upon our country is loudly and widely publicized so that their true colors will show in time to keep them out of the Presidency in '08.
** For the asshat that like to leave halfwit political comments - my team is the Republican side
What is going on in Virginia? This should have been a sound victory for Allen. Ugh!!!!
Posted by: Andi at November 8, 2006 02:03 PMI just hope it serves as a QUICK and EFFECTIVE wake up call to Republicans that they had better return to their roots and stop trying to outspend the Democrats.
And I think Pelosi in charge is gonna be hilarious.
On a side note, I'd love to see these conservative dems (i.e. Shuler in NC) pull a 'jumpin jeffords' and switch their D to an R.
Posted by: Dorothy at November 8, 2006 11:18 PMI'll be honest, I can see all the "wake up call," "get the real conservative ideals back in there" arguments and I could go along with them... to an extent, but here is my true concern:
We are just a few highly coordinated and concentrated attacks away from a full retreat from Iraq. AlQ knows this. This emboldens the terror machine. Things are about to get bloodier for my friends. Add to that a congress that will have no shame in hamstringing the rules of engagement along with a new SecDef.
I'm sorry. These men and women over there are my friends. Their lives are not worth what Democrats will most likely do, though only a few deliberately, to undermine their safety. Granted, I know the reality better over there than a lot of civilians and the risks of my closest friends being hurt are low... hell, it's lower than just training in the military during the Clinton years... but still...
I don't want to think that the next time I see one of my best friends, it will be on yet another CNN broadcast of the terrorist perspective of a sniper kill of him.
Posted by: RSM at November 9, 2006 01:05 AMIt'll be interesting to see whether the misdeeds of the newly empowered Dems get any attention from the MSM, or if it's gonna still be "Bush is evil" 24/7.
