I'm not too much of a Hollywood gossip hound but I can't help this weird creepy feeling I get looking at the new pictures of the Cruise-Holmes kid. There is just something ... unnatural looking ... something is not right in this Vanity Fair picture.
Moms, can you put your finger on what it is?
Maybe its just the fact that he's got her in his jacket like a puppy or the fact that she looks sort of like the quizno's baby that "talks" in such freaky ways. I just don't know.
Decide for yourself. The pics are online here.
I think she looks odd.

I have nothing to support that gut feeling except that Tom Cruise has thoroughly demonstrated his willingness, nay his EAGERness, to follow a false prophet.
What IS it about fame and riches that make ignorant egotists, specifically performers, believe that any sentient being could have the slightest interest in their limited, totally insular conception of reality?
Posted by: babalu at September 6, 2006 04:49 PMI think the photos are retouched. Notice how there is not a hint of pink in the cheeks in the outside photos. Especially the cover where they look bundled up. You would think she would have a little pink in the cheeks. I think too, in photos, the babies pupils contract really tight from the flash, so the eyes have kind of an unreal, spacey look.
Posted by: Laurie at September 6, 2006 06:50 PMShe looks too old to be that young of a baby.
Posted by: Kelly at September 7, 2006 06:01 AMBabalu hit it on the head. My initial reaction was Damien from The Omen. She is scary looking. My daughter had a pretty nice head of hair at birth, but rubbed it all off within a month. Then she looked something like Ho Chi Min. Dat Cruise baby be unnatural.
Posted by: Uncalrry at September 7, 2006 11:24 AMPuts me in mind of those hideous Cabbage Patch Dolls from the 80s. Who'd have thunk that a creature as gorgeous as Katie could have produced such unusual-looking offspring.
